Rotate PDF
The rotation is saved in the PDF itself. Your file is never uploaded.
What does Rotate PDF do?
Rotate PDF turns pages of a PDF by 90, 180 or 270 degrees and saves the corrected file. You can rotate the whole document or only selected pages, which is handy when a scanner has fed some pages upside down or sideways. The pages are not re-rendered, so text and image quality are unchanged.
How to use Rotate PDF
- Choose the PDF file.
- Pick the rotation: 90° clockwise, 180° or 90° counter-clockwise.
- Leave the page box empty to rotate all pages, or type pages such as 2, 5-7.
- Press Rotate PDF to download the corrected file.
When is it useful?
- Fixing scanned pages that came out sideways or upside down.
- Turning landscape tables or drawings so they read correctly on screen.
- Preparing a document before merging it with others.
Example
A 10-page scan where pages 4 and 9 are upside down: enter 4, 9, choose 180° and press Rotate PDF. Only those two pages are turned.
Good to know
- Everything happens in your browser, so your PDF is never uploaded to our server. Very large files (hundreds of pages) can take a while on older phones.
- Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened. Remove the password with the program you used to set it, then try again.
- Rotation is added to any rotation the page already has, so rotating a page twice by 90° turns it 180°.
Frequently asked questions
Is Rotate PDF free?
Yes. You can use it as often as you like without creating an account.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Rotate PDF works entirely in your web browser. Your files are read and processed on your own device and are never sent to our server, so nothing is stored.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no fixed limit, but very large files need more memory. If a big file is slow on your phone, try it on a computer.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It runs in any modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer - there is nothing to install.
