Density = times the phrase appears ÷ total words. There is no "perfect" density; write naturally for readers. Your text is not uploaded.
What does Keyword Density Checker do?
Keyword Density Checker counts how often words and phrases appear in a text and shows each as a percentage of all words. It lists the most frequent single words, two-word and three-word phrases, can ignore common words such as "the" and "and", and reports how often a focus keyword you enter is used.
How to use Keyword Density Checker
- Paste the text of your article or page.
- Optionally type a focus keyword and choose whether to ignore common words.
- Press Check density.
- Switch between the 1, 2 and 3 word tabs to see the top phrases.
When is it useful?
- Checking that an article really covers its main topic.
- Spotting words you repeat too often.
- Comparing your text with a competitor's page.
Example
In a 500-word article where "pdf merger" appears 6 times, the focus keyword density is 6 ÷ 500 = 1.20%.
Good to know
- There is no ideal keyword density. Write for readers first; stuffing keywords can hurt rankings.
- Common words are ignored at the start and end of phrases when the option is ticked.
- Your text is analysed in your browser and never uploaded.
