What does Javascript Obfuscator do?

The JavaScript Obfuscator packs JavaScript into a compact form that is hard for people to read, using the well-known Dean Edwards packer. The code still runs the same way in the browser.

How to use Javascript Obfuscator

  1. Paste or type your code into the box. The Paste button inserts what you copied, and Sample loads an example.
  2. Press Obfuscate.
  3. Check the result and press Copy to use it. Reset clears everything.

When is it useful?

  • Make casual copying of your script harder
  • Reduce the size of a script
  • Hide implementation details in a demo

Good to know

  • Obfuscation is not real security - determined people can still unpack it.
  • Test the obfuscated code before using it.
  • Your text is only used to create the result and is not saved.
