Frequently asked questions
How does the conversion work?
Binary (base 2) writes numbers with only 0 and 1, where each position is worth twice the one to its right (1, 2, 4, 8, 16...). Computers store each character as a number (its character code). For basic English letters, digits and punctuation these codes follow the ASCII standard, for example A = 65 and a = 97.
Is Text to Binary free?
Yes. You can use it as often as you like without creating an account.
Is my text saved?
No. It is sent to our server only to create the result and is not stored. Like every tool on the site we keep a basic usage record (tool name, time, IP address and country); see our Privacy Policy.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It runs in any modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer - there is nothing to install.
