Social Media Image Resizer

What does Social Media Image Resizer do?

Social Media Image Resizer fits any picture to the recommended size for Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, YouTube and Pinterest. Choose a preset and either fill the frame by cropping the edges, or fit the whole image and fill the empty space with a background colour. A live preview shows the result before you download it.

How to use Social Media Image Resizer

1. Choose an image.
2. Pick a size preset, for example Instagram post, square (1080 × 1080).
3. Choose Fill to crop or Fit to add a background, and pick the colour.
4. Press Download JPG.

When is it useful?

• Making a cover photo or banner that is not cut off strangely.
• Preparing the same picture for several platforms.
• Creating YouTube thumbnails and Pinterest pins in the right shape.

Example

A wide 4000 × 2000 landscape photo set to Instagram story (1080 × 1920) with Fit and a white background gives a tall image with the photo in the middle and white space above and below.

Good to know

• Your image is never uploaded.
• The presets are commonly recommended sizes; platforms change their guidelines from time to time.

Frequently asked questions

Is Social Media Image Resizer free?

Are my files uploaded?

No. Social Media Image Resizer works entirely in your web browser. Your files are read and processed on your own device and are never sent to our server, so nothing is stored.

Is there a file size limit?

There is no fixed limit, but very large files need more memory. If a big file is slow on your phone, try it on a computer.
